“Now That’s the Ticket!” Obama/BidenBarack Obama has chosen his running mate, Joseph R. Biden, Democratic Senator from Delaware. Early reactions from the political echo chamber are:
Grade Level Parent Meetings UPDATE!The Senior level parent meeting has been scheduled: Seniors’ Parent Night, Cafeteria, Tues, Sept 23, 6:30PM It’s Free Money!This is absolutely mind boggling. The federal government is trying to GIVE AWAY money and millions Americans haven’t taken them up on the offer! The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (a liberal think tank) has put out a study claiming that 5 million Americans, over 11,000 in Austin alone, have yet to claim their Economic Stimulus Payment of up to $1200. Texans on the ElectionA new poll produced by members of the UT-Austin Government Department and the Texas Politics Project, found that 67% of Texans think the country is moving in the wrong direction. This reflects similar polls across the rest of the country. Texans do, however, support John McCain over Barack Obama 42 to 33%, and incumbent Republican John Cornyn over challenger State Representative Rick Noriega 44 to 31%. Libertarian Bob Barr and Independent Ralph Nader are both polling less than 5%. Keep in mind, however, that Nader will not be on the ballot in Texas. Find more detailed information here
Fox News’ Viewers are ‘Balanced!’According to a new study from The Pew Research Center (.pdf) Fox News’ viewers are the most evenly divided among Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. Fox News really is balanced after all! I’m surprised by CNN’s numbers, however. I would have thought CNN’s numbers would have looked more like Fox’s.
