Semester Project Volunteer Opportunity
Here is another opportunity from a woman who is considering running for the State Board of Education. Rebecca Osborne is a teacher at McNeil HS and a former student of Ms. Hilsabeck here at RRHS.The State Board of Education is the governmental organization that determines what students learn in school and other school issues. Its a very powerful group of people that most citizens haven’t heard of.
This will be a great opportunity for you to see really how a campaign works from the ground up! If you choose this option, I will allow you to turn the project in after the holidays.
Students interested in working on the campaign can meet with me at 2pm on Sunday at the Round Rock Public Library. (Another meeting will occur on Thursday, December 18th at 5pm – same location.)
We will try to meet in the Teen Room; on the first floor. As you enter the front door of the library, take a left, go past the stairs and into the room on the left. If students are planning to come, they can email me at:
rebecca@osborne.org
To work on this first phase of the campaign, volunteers need access to a computer with internet access.
If students have the following items, it would be helpful if they could bring them.
- USB thumb drive
- laptop
- library card, this will allow students to use the library computers
