Have you heard about the woman who recently had octuplets – 8 kids?

A California Woman recently bore eight chilren via invetro fertilization. The catch is, that she already has six other children – all born in the same manner!

Can she handle fourteen children?

Here’s the question: Can a single woman, who’s mother recentliy declared bankrupcy, take care of 14 children on her own? What role should the government play in this situation? Should she be allowed to have more children via invetro fertilization?

How would a classical republican government respond?

What about a government based on the natural rights philosophy?

    I think that the gov. should stay out of this situation..who are they to tell her how many kids she can have? i realize she’s probably not going to be able to afford all those childeren, and the kids lives are probably going to suck, and that’s unfortunate, but that’s her problem not the gov’s. i have no sympathy for this lady, she knew what she was doing and what she was getting into. if she has a hard time raising them or whatever, then it’s her own fault and i think everyone should just leave her alone

    Who in their right mind would want to have 14 kids? While its true that people from generations before have grown up with large families but i think thats only because birth control wasnt promoted by then. i think this lady has a problem, perhaps an addiction, but just like how we treat druggies we should not allow her to keep doing this. It would be like giving a drug addict more drugs. She needs to have her kids taken away be in some kind of rehab.

    isnt cali poor and arnold and his peeps prob arnt that smart by watching the vid the lady has a nice house she will be fine if she couldn’t handle it she wouldn’t have done it plus free country she could have 20 kids thats her prob

    How many kids she has is her choice–the government has never interviened in large families before, so why now? Why should this woman be the first?

    So GertrudesWrath, do you think she could make a living off of this? Having children and selling them to parents? It would be kind of like a puppy mill! Is there anything unethical about that?

    ummmmmmmmmm this is kinda creepy?? well honestly i dont know if the govt. should help seeing how it was her decision to have 14 kids. my Granma is one of 19!!!!! and shes doing pretty good?

    She maybe able to handle 14 kids, but taking care of them will be a fortune! The government will need to help her out. And i believe she should NOT be allowed to get anotherrrr invetro fertilization.

    btw how is an addiction annoying?!

    am not saying she’s living off the government, I just think she should be responsible and she should not depend on the gov. and gov. shouldnt help. but haha addicted to having children, talk about a way painful, and annoying addiction.

    understand that as a mother it would be hard to let go of your children, but at the same time loiving off the government is no way to raise a child, and its just irresponsible on her part
