Would you Hang-Up on Obama?

Apparently Republican Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen did today!

TWICE!!!

Thinking she was being pranked by a radio show in South Florida, the Congresswoman hung up on President-Elect Obama this morning when he called her.

According to Ros-Lehtinen’s flack Alex Cruz, the congresswoman received the call on her cell phone from a Chicago-based number and an aide informed her that Obama wanted to speak to her. When Obama introduced himself, Ros-Lehtinen cut him off and said, “I’m sorry but I think this is a joke from one of the South Florida radio stations known for these pranks.” Then she hung up.

Moments later, Obama tried again, this time through his soon-to-be chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.

“Ileana, I cannot believe you hung up on the President-Elect,” Emanuel said. And then–yes, you know what’s coming–she hung up on Emanuel saying she “didn’t believe the call was legitimate.”

Read the whole story – and how she gracefully recovered here and here.

Oops!

Obama Wins

In case you have been living in a cave and your only source of news is MrOsman.com – Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States of America. He landed the 270 (and more) electoral college votes that he needed.

Were your electoral college predictions correct?

Barack ‘Prime Time’ Obama

Tonight at 7:00 Barack Obama will show a 30 minute infomercial on NBC, CBS, FOX, Univision, BET, MSNBC and TV One.

This will be his ‘closing argument’ for the campaign that ends in 6 days.

The address will be a ‘block’ address, on all of those channels at once. Fox has even agreed to post-pone the World Series for 15 minutes in order to accommodate the spot.

Too much? Or just the right thing to do to convince Americans at the last minute?

Politico says, Smart? or Overkill?

What do you think?

Electoral College Graph

I thought that I would share this neat graphic from Electoral-vote.com with you.

The lines represent  the number of electoral votes (EVs) that McCain or Obama will get (according to electoral-vote.com).

From electoral-vote.com:

The graph above shows the current number of electoral votes for each candidate since Mar 22, The brown horizontal line shows the 270 electoral vote mark needed to be elected president. The gray vertical lines show the boundaries between the months.

Joe the Plumber

The Winner of Round 3???

Obama? McCain? The moderator? Joe the plumber?

Wait – Who is this Joe the Plumber guy?

Conversation about Joe the Plumber dominated the debate last night. McCain and Obama used the example of Joe, a plumber, to illustrate what will happen under their economic plans. This guy, is a real guy who asked Obama a question at a recent rally. To me, however, the point was quite tiring and seemed more like pandering than anything (from both sides). Maybe you liked it however?

Funny enough, there is another Joe the Plumber from Amarillo who has his own website! He’s the “Friendliest Plumber in Town!”

All-in-all, however, I found this to be the best of the three debates so far. They hit some key and interesting issues: how dirty the campaigns have gotten lately, the economy, abortion, and education. Immigration, however, stayed off the table I would have enjoyed a conversation on that important issue.

Update: Joe the Plumber isn’t a licensed plumber and he owes $1200 in back taxes. He’s also already held more press conferences than  Gov. Sarah Palin.
